Caring about the outer world really has very limited impact, until you’re enlightening your inner world. Do you care about that?
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” Dr Seuss, The Lorax
Of course, in The Lorax, Dr Seuss was talking to the young lad, saying it’s people like him caring about the world around them that’s going to help the trees and the animals to get healthy again.
But I’d like you to consider that quote in the context of your inner world. And that your outer world becomes increasingly healthy as a result of the health of your inner world.
Have you ever tried to change the outer without some kind of shift on the inside first?
Have you ever tried to give up a habit, or take on a new healthier habit, without first having a fundamental insight on the inside?
Have you ever tried to speak or act differently around someone, without first having a true recognition about each of your parts in the relationship on the inside?
The level of health in your outer world is a reflection of
the level of health in your inner world.
And “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
So how much do you care?
