A poem for Valentine’s Day. And every day.
I love you, she said.
Really? I said?
Yes.
But I’m awful! Have you seen me? I say terrible things. I upset people. I’ve shouted. And judged. I’ve criticised and blamed.
I love you, she said.
But I’ve been too busy, I should have rested more, made time for friends more, done volunteering and given back.
I love you, she said.
But I’ve failed and made mistakes, and done shameful things, and done wrong by people I loved.
I love you, she said.
But…but…but…
And the words started to fail.
Spoken into the allowing space.
Energy dissipating.
Usually met with resistance, engaged with, and fought.
Now nothing.
But love.
I love you, she said.
And I knew it to be true.
Wishing you the realisation of the deepest love possible on this Valentine’s Day — the love of your Self. The love of who you are before any thing. It is there. Within. Waiting for you to hear it.
With so much love, Helen
I coach and guide smart, passionate, curious people who care about improving the lives of those around them. Often coaches and leaders, they’ve worked hard all their lives to be the ‘best’ them and it doesn’t seem to have delivered the happiness, security or freedom they expected. Now they’re wondering what else is available. I guide you back, prior to stories, to remember the real you because that’s what you, me and the whole world really wants! Find out more here.
