Are you blaming your team, the economy, the government… ? Justifying feeling stressed, when it’s actually time to take responsibility.
I posted recently about the way that we love to feel. That feeling of being in creation-mode.
And I shared some of the symptoms of the bad-feeling of interference.
This interference game is sneaky because, to much of the world, your bad feeling, and subsequent blaming, is justified. They tell you:
- Of course you feel off-balance in the current political climate
- Of course you’re distracted by the global worms coming out the woodwork
- Of course you’re feeling the pressure given the economic situation
- Of course you’re overwhelmed by the volume you’ve got to handle
It validates you continuing to blame something or someone out there for causing you to feel:
- Stuck
- Stressed
- Like you’ve got a big problem
But that’s not you in creation-mode.
That’s you in contraction, I can’t handle it, victim-mode.
While pretending it’s justified because of the level you work at.
I get it. I did it too.
But victim-mode is victim-mode, no matter how senior, well-paid or successful you are.
And victim-mode is interference.
It’s not the real you.
Great leaders recognise victim-mode in an instant, and take action to shift out of it.
If you can’t shift out of it easily and effortlessly, then there’s interference to remove.
The work we do together removes that interference so that you get back in charge of your own life, and stop feeling victim to governments, economies and all the other stuff you’ve been blaming.
Clear, effortless, grounded leadership restored.
It starts with a conversation.
Oh and by the way, if this email has p!ssed you off and you’re saying “she has no f’ing clue what she’s talking about” – that’s victim-mode in reaction to my words too.
We need great leadership.
