Context

Founder who grew his company as CEO. He was close to burnout so decided to step back into Chairman and bring in a new CEO.

He had a moment of relief, but then the problems got worse.

The Problem – Board Betrayal

After temporary relief when he stepped back into Chairman, the stress kept increasing – the numbers were falling, he didn’t like the changes the new CEO was making, and it felt like the new CEO was trying to get him out. There was betrayal, animosity and negative competition. He couldn’t let it go. Despite working with a coach for 2-3 years, it hadn’t helped.

“Obsessive thoughts, I can’t switch off. It’s all I can think, dream or talk about. I’m under constant stress and I can’t see the light anymore.”

He was feeling depressed, knew he needed to deal with it, but nothing seemed to help. His happiness and satisfaction had dropped. Energy was through the floor. He often felt overwhelmed, and then didn’t take action on the things he could be doing.

When he saw how it was affecting time with his partner and son, he decided he had to do something about it.

He decided to invest in a 4-week Leadership Reset.

The Result – Practical Solutions

“What I came here with – that isn’t where I am, or who I am, now. Of course there is still a lot going on – but I feel a lot more positive.”

He felt more healthily distant from the challenges in a healthy way. More relaxed. Calm.

He had clarity: seeing where he’d been co-dependent with people in the business when the relationship was just broken.

Seeing the fact he was not in charge of the leadership or culture of the business anymore. And seeing opportunities to take positive action. The light was returning.

“I’m recognising that the team aren’t my family – this is a business and my focus is on what I can do. I’ve been getting things done that I’ve been stalling for months.”
