When we last met in December our focus was on line manager development – a topic which I massively care about because I continue to see people in leadership roles with little or no development, who then continue to be promoted (still with no development), and who therefore get to senior roles lacking the confidence or skill that the world expects them to have for the level they’re at. Imposter syndrome is ever-present and become incredibly unhelpful.

We all have a different response to the word ‘change’. As we do to most things in life. We all have different baggage we bring based on previous experiences.
In 2 weeks time I can’t believe the CIPD Annual Conference will be all over! But it’s going to be an amazing 2 days before we get to that point!

I really care about coaching cultures becoming the way we do things in Britain – I’ve experienced coaching from both sides of the table and the impact is just huge. The difference it can make to individuals, and therefore the organisation, is the reason I set up my own business.
So I feel privileged to have been tweeting and blogging for the CIPD today at their Coaching Conference 2014 and to hear some of the fantastic stuff that’s going on!

Saturday was a big day for us – we went to see The Lion King at the Lyceum in London! This was a delayed Christmas present that various relatives had contributed to and we were all very excited – the kids’ first normal train ride (i.e. not a steam-train-on-holiday ride), a trip to the theatre, a night in a premier inn – that always makes their day!
