For Andrew, learning every day in fact means pushing the boundaries to fail every day – otherwise how can you learn?
In a couple of months, on 10th and 11th May, the Olympia in London will become home to the CIPD Learning & Development Show.
It’s a fantastic learning event – whether you go to the Conference sessions, spend your time on the Exhibition floor and in the taster sessions, or talking to fellow delegates – there’s something for everyone!
After a full 2 days in London, I’m starting to process and reflect on what I’ve heard. And this isn’t even half of what was going on there!! So, here’s where I am. What do you think? What else did you hear?

This sessions is with Anne Parker of Booking.com and Peter Kay (no not that one) from Tarmac.
Context being set about choice with a controlled environment – freedom in a framework.
When we have so many coffee shops to choose from it doesn’t drive loyalty and there’s little control for the coffee merchants to get customers to them. Having someone to guide you to a great one or advertising a certain shop will help bring an element of guidance or control to people’s choices.

Going for thought provoking and practical in this session with space for joint Q&A at the end.
First of all it’s Tim and context around ATS Euromaster. UK arm of a European business, Europe’s largest tyre repair company with about 30k people in 18 countries in Europe. Owned by the Michelin group which provides internal challenges because a retail & distribution org owned by a manufacturing org & the two people processes don’t always match. Operate in both B2C and B2B markets from wheelbarrows up to quarry machinery. 7 people in the L&D team. Challenge of 340 sites, 3-16 people in each location, presents a challenge of geographical spread rather than volume of employees.
